2022 Meeting Minutes
SYRACUSE PHA MEETING – November 14, 2022
There was a Syracuse PHA meeting on Monday, November 14, 2022. Present at the meeting was Sue Mauro, Mark Frohm, Gail Miller, Heather Heberle, Margie Heberle, Shelly Shaulinski, Debbie Barmaster, Sarah Donahue, Terese Bouchard, Kerry Kocher, Anne Wernert, Debbie Lorge, Jamie Bates, Becky Bates, Chris LaBarge
Secretary's Report :
A motion was made to accept the Secretary’s report dated August 2022. The motion was made by Mark ;seconded by Gail and carried.
Treasurer's Report :
A copy is on file with the secretary. Debbie Barmaster made a motion to accept the report; seconded by Mark Frohm. All are in favor.
Membership Report :
Nothing to report
Rules Report :
Nothing to report
High Point Report :
Nothing to report
Election Report :
Sue Mauro, Debbie Lorge, Anne Wernert, and Jaime Bates were all re elected as directors.
Scholarship Report :
Nothing to report
Banquet Report :
Banquet will be on January 7, 2023 at the Woodcliff Inn. Invitations and sponsor letters will be mailed Thanksgiving weekend. $ 55 will be the dinner price.
Show Date Report :
2024 possibly moving the PHA show to Hamburg – and moving a week later in the calendar.
PHA Show :
Gary Young will be the judge for this 2023.
Claire Afflack will sponsor the hospitality room for 2023
Margie Heberle and Sarah Donahue will run the silent auction.
Ribbons will be ordered by Liz and she will also do the prize list.
Kenn Marash will be the announcer
Noah and Darius will be the starters / ring dudes.
Sponsorship letters will again be sent out by Sarah Barge
Amy Sweeney will be the special class sponsor
Saren Group will sponsor the wine and cheese party on Saturday
We will offer a pairs class on Saturday night 2' to 3'. 12 places The Hunting Horn will give a saddle pad to each participant. Prize money will be paid thru 10th.
Old Business :
Mark made a motion to apply for May 2024 date at Erie County May 1-5. All are in favor.
The next meeting will be Monday March 20, 2023 at 11:00 at the Hampton Inn in Victor.
SYRACUSE PHA MEETING – August 8, 2022
There was a Syracuse PHA meeting on Monday, August 8. Present at the meeting was Liz Pinto, Shelly Shaulinski, Mark Frohm, Gail Miller, Megan MacCallum, Leslie Miller, Debbie Lorge, Chris LaBarge, Terese Bouchard, Anne Wernert, Jaime Bates, Becky Bates.
Secretary's Report :
A motion was made to accept the Secretary’s report dated March 2022. The motion was made by Megan ;seconded by Anne and carried. All are in favor.
Treasurer's Report :
A copy is on file with the secretary. Chris made a motion to accept. Terese seconded. All are in favor.
Rules Report :
Nothing to report. We will drop Syracuse PHA from the 2' hunter division wording. Specs will remain the same.
Election Report :
Sue Mauro, Anne Wernert, Jaime Bates, Debbie Lorge are up for re-elction.
PHA Show :
We sold 116 stalls in 2022. Our 2023 show will be held in the colesium in Syracuse.
Kerry has spoken to NYS about the fiber footing to be put in the colesium – probably more expensive to do this. Should we put down this footing or leave what is there? We will get a quote for the other footing.
The next meeting will be Monday November,14 2022 at 11:00 at the Hampton Inn in Victor.
